Meet the Teacher & Owner of Starlight Creative Arts Studio

Clarissa Allred is a passionate educator, performer, and mother of three whose mission is to nurture creativity and confidence in children through the performing arts. With over a decade of teaching experience and more than 20 years as a performer, she brings a joyful mix of talent, heart, and professionalism to every class she teaches.

Clarissa’s performance background spans music, theatre, film, and dance. She has appeared in numerous collegiate and community stage productions—including Children of Eden (Eve), Sister Act (Sister Mary Robert), and A Christmas Story (Mother). Beyond the stage, she and her family were recently featured in a national tourism commercial for West Virginia. Another film opportunity Clarissa had was as a background extra and photo double in a modern adaptation of “Little Women” (2018) featuring Lea Thompson and Lucas Grabeel.

A former K–8th grade music teacher, Clarissa has directed school and church choirs, as well as Christmas stage musicals, and dance recitals. She’s planned story time programs at the library, led musical theatre camps, and taught private voice lessons. Clarissa also writes music, records covers for her YouTube channel “Clarissa Rochelle Music,” and has placed in national vocal competitions, including being a featured soloist on award-winning Christian artist Jenny Phillips’ studio album, “Press Forward.” A few years ago, while living in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, Clarissa workshopped with an improv acting troupe, through NYU-Abu Dhabi’s film department. There she wrote, directed, and appeared in her first short film. Clarissa and her husband recently wrote a one-act play together as well.

Today, Clarissa is thrilled to bring her love of music and theatre to local families through Starlight Creative Arts Studio, offering Music & Movement, Creative Drama, and private voice lessons throughout the community—while preparing to open her own studio space next year.

She believes every child has a unique light within them—and helping that light shine is her favorite part of teaching.
